How To Use Vitamin E For Dark Circles?

Though I’m a relatively young guy, I always seemed to have a problem with dark circles. At first, it didn’t bother me that much, but once you have several of your friends ask you about them, tell you that they make you look sick, you begin to notice…

ca you use vitamin e for dark circles

Strangely enough, I had these dark circles through my 20’s… actually, I’ve had them for as long as I can remember, and it never occurred to me to try and do something. As of late, I became more and more interested in the topic and started researching the best ways to deal with these dark circles under my eyes.

One of the more interesting directions the research led me was vitamin E. Can you use vitamin E for dark circles, I wondered? As if turned out, vitamin E oil does help fighting dark circles under your eyes as it fights and reverses the damage free radicals do to the cells of our body. It is best applied topically, directly to the dark circle, and massage it gently into the skin.

Benefits Of Using Vitamin E

Unless you are totally OCD like me, most people don’t even read the ingredients on their face care products. If you ever get around to it, you will find that the majority of them contain vitamin e, and that’s because its got so many skin care benefits, here are some of them:

Scars: I know we are talking about dark circles here, but we will get back to that in a minute. Do you have any unsightly scars you’d like to get rid of? Lather them with vitamin E oil, and you will soon see them fade away into obscurity.

Fine Lines and Wrinkles? Want to reverse the aging process? Go and get yourself some vitamin E oil! This miracle-working oil blocks free radicals from the body; free radicals are every woman’s worse nightmare and are the reason why we will never stay young forever!

Hydration: Dry skin is not a good look; the good news is that vitamin E can resolve this. It works by forming a barrier around cell membranes to protect them which keeps them hydrated and healthy. This helps the skin to stay supple and moisturized. Another pearl of wisdom about vitamin E is that it helps to fight inflammation which is responsible for conditions that make the skin dry such as eczema and atopic dermatitis.

Sun Damage: Are you guilty of spending far too long basking in the sun at the same time as neglecting your sunscreen application? Don’t worry, you’re not the only one, I do it all the time! Vitamin E protects the skin against sun damage by putting a stop to free radicals before they get the chance to damage cells. If you are unfortunate enough to get burnt, vitamin e reduces DNA damage which reduces the swelling and redness.

Why Does It Help With Dark Circles Under Your Eyes?

People get dark circles around their eyes for a variety of different reasons; if you’re like me, it’s because you don’t get enough sleep! But it’s also caused by nutrient deficiencies, anemia, or too much caffeine and salt.

Vitamin E helps get rid of dark circles under the eyes because it plays a role in the body processing vitamin A. Vitamin A helps to lighten dark spots on the skin. Vitamin E also acts as an antioxidant which protects the skin against damage.

How To Use/Apply It?

If you really want to get the most out of vitamin E combining it with other natural products will significantly boost the effects.

Raw Honey, Papaya, and Vitamin E: Honey is a natural antibacterial, and it is also high in antioxidants. Both of which assist in slowing down the aging process, treating skin conditions, soothing and moisturizing the skin as well as unclogging the pores.

Papaya contains an abundance of vitamin A, C, and E; it helps to reduce dark spots, blemishes, the appearance of acne, hydrate the skin and keep it soft. Applying all three to the skin will reduce dark circles and give the skin a visible glow:

  • Cut up one-quarter of papaya and add it to a blender
  • Add one tablespoon of honey
  • Add one tablespoon of vitamin E oil
  • Blend together thoroughly
  • Wash and cleanse your face
  • Apply a small amount around the eyes
  • For best results leave the paste on overnight and wash it off in the morning
  • Repeat every night until the dark circles have gone

Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Vitamin E: Extra virgin olive oil contains phytosterols which brighten the skin and reduces pigmentation. It is also rich in antioxidants which boosts skin regeneration. Olive oil also contains vitamin e for a double dose when combined with vitamin E oil.

  • In a small bowl combine 1 tablespoon of vitamin e oil and 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
  • Stir to combine
  • Wash and cleanse your face
  • Dip your fingers into the mixture and apply it around your eyes
  • For best results leave it on overnight, if you are in a rush let it sit for 15 minutes and then rinse it off
  • Repeat every night until the dark circles are gone

Vitamin E Oil: If you don’t feel like combining vitamin e oil with anything, that’s fine too.

  • Wash and cleanse your face
  • Pour a dime size amount of vitamin e oil into the palm of your hand
  • Dip your fingers into it and dab the oil around your eyes
  • For best results, leave the vitamin e oil on overnight and wash your face in the morning

Side Effects: Vitamin E is a natural product, so unless you’ve got super sensitive skin, you are not likely to experience any side effects when using it. However, if you start to experience any type of skin irritation, stop using vitamin e oil.

Vitamin E Capsules Or Vitamin E Oil?

Hands down vitamin E oil, and this is for two reasons. You can do two things with capsules, consume them as vitamins, or prick the casing and squeeze the oil out.

First, when you swallow them as vitamins, it takes a while for the oil to get absorbed into the bloodstream before it starts working its magic.

Second, pricking the capsules to get the oil out is simply inconvenient, why waste your time when you can just buy a jar of oil? So basically, use the oil and not the capsules unless you want to walk around with dark circles under your eyes for longer than you need to!
